Morroch Bay

Morroch contains two isolated beach cottages. They both have electricity and phones. Mobile phones don't usually work. TV is from Northern Ireland. Water is pumped (automatically!) from a spring.

Opposite and below is the track down the cliff. (It can also be seen in the distance on the home page.) The Southern Croft can be seen in the (old) picture below beside an old tractor shed

. Cliff drive

Access is not for the fainthearted - you can drive along a rough track through fields to the cliff-top parking area and proceed on foot down a steep cliff path, although this is not an easy walk.

The track has a hairpin bend on a 45 degree gradient, but is comfortably handled with the correct vehicle and careful driving. Particular care should be taken on this track.(See the cliff track video!)

Experienced 4 wheel drive vehicle owners can drive to the cottage, but for other visitors, a transfer service is provided for guests and all luggage on arrival and departure.

private bay

Set in an idyllic coastal situation, 2 miles from the picturesque fishing village of Portpatrick in the south-west corner of Scotland, these unique beach cottages stand in their own private bay, facing south over the sea with a wonderful backdrop of high cliffs.

This remote situation on the Mull of Galloway is the perfect setting for a temporary escape from the world and ideal for
• artists
• birdwatchers

The bay may be rented exclusively with one or both houses.
The beach cottages are also available individually.

Once on the bay the isolation is complete. No house, nor shop, nor pub is within convenient walking distance. However, the village is only 10 minutes away by boat or Land Rover.

cottage by the sea

The cottages are simply furnished. Morroch Cottage has an open fire creating a cosy atmosphere in the sitting room and there is a veranda along the front of the cottage where you can relax and enjoy the wonderful view and sound of the sea.

On a clear day the Isle of Man can be seen, and at night the lighthouses on the Irish coast complement the stars as the only lights, save those from the comfortable crofthouses on the sea shore.
